What Fluxymeter delivers
Hourly day-ahead zonal price forecasts, published before the market closes.
Coverage
- Zones
- All seven Italian bidding zones — North, Centre-North, Centre-South, South, Calabria, Sicily, Sardinia — plus PUN.
- Horizon
- The 24 hours of the delivery day, hour by hour.
- Products
- Hourly forecast, daily baseload, and a p10-p90 range for each hour.
- 80% range
- For every hour, two values, one below and one above the forecast, between which the price should land eight times out of ten. How often it actually lands there is published in Transparency, zone by zone.
- Market context
- Expected load and renewables for the delivery day, fuel cost and a reference marginal cost.
- History
- Sixty days of published forecasts alongside the settled prices to check them against.
When it lands
- Before the gate
- The forecast that matters is the one available before 12:00 on the day before delivery, when the market closes. After that, a forecast can no longer inform a bid.
- Refresh
- The market picture — expected load, expected renewables, fuel cost — updates through the day.
How you use it
- Web dashboard
- Forecasts, zone comparison, grid outlook and alerts on a single page.
- Export
- Historical series download as a spreadsheet, ready to drop into a portfolio model.
- Tomorrow's table
- The “Copy” button takes tomorrow's 24 hours, ready to paste into Excel or any spreadsheet: one zone with its 80% range, or every zone side by side.
- Alerts
- Flags when a market condition moves outside its usual range, or when a data source stops updating.
Who it is for
- Day-ahead participants
- Traders and portfolio managers required to submit bids by 12:00 on the day preceding delivery, by zone and by hour.
- Generators
- Thermal plants scheduling their running hours, and renewable operators requiring an expected valuation of next-day output.
- Buyers
- Energy-intensive industry and retail suppliers planning procurement and monitoring market direction.
- Analysis and risk management
- Research desks and risk control functions requiring a consistent and verifiable historical series.
How you check it
Forecasts remain published as issued and are not restated. Once GME publishes the settled prices, the comparison is available in the Transparency section: forecast against actual, for each hour, over the preceding thirty days.
Error measurement is reported in full. Hours with prices close to zero are reported separately: at such levels percentage metrics lose meaning, and aggregating them with the rest would return a figure that is not representative.
The track record is openly accessible, without registration, ahead of any commercial evaluation.
